Cajun Dance Series @ The Manship

Join for the first series of lessons in Baton Rouge in the Hartley/Vey Workshop at Manship Theatre. This 4 week series will focus on the basics of Cajun Dance, including waltz, two-step, and jitterbug. Open to all levels and no need to have a partner. $60 per person for the series. Allons Danser! Dino Day @ Louisiana Art & Science Museum

Explore dinosaurs and their prehistoric world through a variety of interactive activities at LASM's second annual Dino Day!

In addition to hands-on stations and knowledgeable guest presenters, you will also have a chance to see our recent additions to the Solar System Gallery -- home of Jason, a 65-million-year-old Triceratops. In the planetarium, dig into a special lineup of dinosaur-themed shows.

The 10 AM and 5 PM shows will haveFamily Hour presentation for all ages, including little ones two and under. Make sure to arrive early to purchase tickets! Museum doors open at 9:30 AM.

Create Your Own Spring/Summer Botanicals @ The Journey Lab

This class will be collecting and pressing botanical specimens for framing. Between the 2nd and 3rd class we will skip one week to allow drying time for our plant specimens. The first class we will gather specimens and organize them in a field notebook. The second class involves pressing our specimens. The third and fourth classes will involve un-pressing, mounting and labeling our specimens. At this point the botanicals will be ready for framing. Framing is not included.

The Futures Fund Family Enrichment Day @ BRCC

Interested in learning more about The Futures Fund youth programs? Students and guardians are welcome to join for a free preview of coding, photography, and new programs (ssshhhh it's a secret!) at the Cypress Technology Building. 

Breakfast begins at 8am. 

This day will also host 30-60-90 minute workshops on entrepreneurial careers in the arts, and enrichment sessions for the whole family on Soft Skill & Professional Development, How To Save For College, and accessing Mental Health Resources. 

These workshops are FREE and open to the community across the state to attend career and professional skills workshops. Youth workshops include introductions to creative careers in robotics, graphic design, music recording and our Skills For Life professional skills training series on how to get a job, keep the job, and advance in you career (for all-ages).
