Mid City Gras Fundraiser at Curbside

With January comes one of our favorite times of the year--Mardi Gras! Come join Curbside Burgers Tuesday Jan. 16 for a fundraiser in which a portion of sales from the dinner service will go to help put on Curbside's first ever Mid City Gras Parade. You'll help make parade happen while eating the best hamburgers in Baton Rouge! Representatives from Mid City Gras will also be on hand to answer any questions you have about the parade.

BRunchFest @ Baton Rouge Gallery

Geaux Rouge Productions is proud to present, "BRunchFest" which is the first ever organized Baton Rouge festival event dedicated to celebrating all things brunch. Located in the heart of Mid City, The Baton Rouge Gallery will be the venue for this family-friendly event. BRunchFest will showcase between 10-15 local restaurants as vendors, feature multiple live music acts, activities for children, drink specials and access to the art of the Baton Rouge Gallery.

All early-bird online tickets will be $15. With your ticket purchase, attendees will get an opportunity to enter the event and try dishes from different vendors for a small cost of $5-10 per dish. As this is a family friendly event, children aged 9 years or younger are free to enter.

The event will also host a "festival tailgating" party to watch the LSU vs Ole Miss away game on a big screen projector. This community event has bottomless possibilities and we are very excited to bring this to Baton Rouge!

Theatre Baton Rouge's Annual Costume Sale

Looking for the some fun dress up clothes, costumes for a school pla, or a Halloween costume? Then check out Theatre Baton Rouge's annual costume sale in TBR's Social Room. The sale will run October 13-14, 2017. Hours for the sale are Friday from 10 am - 5 pm and Saturday from 8 am – 1 pm.

TBR will be selling costumes as well as vintage and modern clothing in many sizes, we will note that we're extremely limited when it comes to children sizes. EVERYTHING is priced to sell, with prices starting at 50 cents! We'll also have props and furniture on sale!

Cash and credit cards accepted, no checks please.

Dinner in the Field 2017 @ Baton Rouge Gallery

Early Bird Tickets are on Sale Now!
It's that time of year again - Baton Rouge's premiere farm-to-table dinner event! Dinner in the Field is a fundraising event for Slow Food Baton Rouge as well as a showcase of the culinary arts, local farms and food traditions. The dinner will feature locally grown foods selected and prepared by area chefs. A cocktail 90 (90 minutes instead of a boring old hour) will begin at 4 with live music, cocktails, and small plates. The seven-course dinner will begin at 5:30 pm featuring local ingredients. The dinner will be accompanied by a wine parings. Seating is limited, so purchase your tickets in advance. Early bird tickets are available through April 14th. 
Again this year Slow Food Baton Rouge will be partnering with the Baton Rouge Gallery. SFBR is pleased to have the opportunity to have the Dinner in the Field on the beautiful grounds of the BR Gallery. This event will be held rain or shine with the dinner under cover in case of rain. 
The Dinner in the Field is a benefit with proceeds dedicated entirely to Baton Rouge's only comprehensive farm to school program Greauxing Healthy Baton Rouge (GHBR). GHBR pilot programming is currently in Dufrocq and FLAIM elementary schools in Baton Rouge and will be expanding to other schools in 2017.

Art Market & Coffee Social Fundraiser @ the Parlor

Welcome to the Art Market & Coffee Social Fundraiser!! Join  Wit and Fellow Calligraphy + Fine Art for an afternoon of socializing over creativity, as six local artists gather to share and sell their art, for the purpose of financing each of their individual upcoming mission trips! 

The goal of this night is to take talent and creativity, and not only share it with the community, but to also put a purpose and long-lasting impact. They would love for you to be a part of that by investing in a cup of coffee, a piece of art, and some great conversation!

Some of the artists will be traveling to India, to minister to and engage with people around the world, while others will be traveling to South Africa to serve and share the love of Jesus in the townships of Cape Town, and one artist will be spending the summer in Sicily, Italy meeting the needs and loving on displaced and often over-looked Refugees. 

The following forms of Art will be sold: calligraphy prints, wall-hangings, Wood slice art, photography prints, screen prints, relief prints, watercolor and pencil prints, as well as soy candels! 

General Admission: $5.00

Pour over and drip coffee from local roaster Cafeciteaux, will be available for an optional donation of any amount, and conversation will be plenty and free!!

Lip Sync Battle with The Bears at Catholic High School

Join the Catholic High School Mothers’ Club and Co-hosts Dixon McMakin and Rachel Reynolds for the inaugural Lip Sync Battle with the Bears on March 11, 2017 at 7 p.m. in the gym at CHS. This unique fundraiser was made popular by Jimmy Fallon and Spike TV’s Lip Sync Battle. It will consist of performers lip-syncing to popular songs from yesterday and today. 

Contestants include favorite teachers and coaches, alumni, parents and local celebrities. The team with the most votes wins. There are 3 ways to collect votes: online, night of event and through sponsorships. Every dollar of a sponsorship is a vote and sponsors get to decide which team(s) get their votes. The overall winner will be awarded the Lip Sync Battle belt to be held until the following year.

Tables of 10 will be available for $1,000. Sponsorship levels are $10,000, $5,000 or $2,500. With your sponsorship you will receive not only publicity for your company, but a prime table directly in front of the action and thousands of votes to cast to your favorite performer. General admission tickets will be available February 1 for $50 a ticket and include beer, wine and delicious bites from Ruffino’s.

Red Stick Roux Rally Gumbeaux Cook-Off

 

Roux Rally take place this year on February 4th, 2017.

50 teams will battle in the gumbo competition along with live music performances on two stages.

All proceeds are donated to Youth Oasis children’s homeless shelter in Mid-City Baton Rouge.

Winner of the Gumbo Contest will receive a People's Choice Award and a commercial award of billboard advertising from Lamar at a value of $8,000.
